Это был чудесный день. Мы паковали наши сумки,когда мой дядя позвонил и предложил подвезти нас
до аэропорта. Было 9 часов, когда мы услышали стук
в дверь. К тому времени мы уже обзванивали наших
друзей, умоляя их отвезти нас в аэропорт и проклиная
себя за ошибку, которую мы совершили, когда
согласились довериться обещаниям
родственника. Мы поспешили к двери. Когда мы ее
открыли, мой дядя стоял в подъезде и смотрел на нас
с упреком. Мы со злостью спросили его, где он был,
и он со злостью ответил, что он ждал нас снаружи. Он
оставил телефон дома и не мог нам позвонить.

It was a lovely day. We were packing our bagswhen my uncle called and offered to give us a lift to
the airport. It was 9 p.m. when we heard a knock on
the door. By that time we were already calling our
friends, begging them to take us to the airport and
cursing ourselves for the mistake we had made
when we had agreed to trust my relative’s promises.
We rushed to the door. When we opened it my
uncle was standing in the lobby and looking at us
with reproach. We asked him angrily where he had
been and he answered angrily that he had waited
for us outside. He had left his phone at home and
hadn’t been able to call us.
