Two homonyms are involved here: trunks = swimming suit for men, thrunk
= part of an elephant body (хобот).
e.g. (7) It is fifties. Stalin already died, iron curtain is still drawn, but through its
little holes there penetrate western radio-voices and nylon stockings.
