“How Much
Sleep Do We
Need?”

2.

How Much Sleep
Do We Need?
Today our group will talk about how
much sleep we need and why sleep
is very important for our health.
Sleep is not just rest – it is an
important part of our daily life.
When we sleep well, we feel more
energetic, think more clearly, and
stay healthier.

3.

Why Sleep is
Important?
Sleep is important for our body and our brain.
• It helps our brain understand new things and
remember them better.
• Sleep helps us stay calm and not feel stressed.
• When we sleep well, we can focus, learn quickly,
and stay active during the day.

Recommended
Sleep Hours
Different ages need different hours
of sleep:
• Children (6–12 years): 9–12 hours every night
• Teenagers (13–18 years): 8–10 hours every night
• Adults: 7–9 hours every night
Teenagers need more sleep because their bodies are still growing.
Their brains are also developing, so they need extra rest.
When students sleep enough, they can focus better, feel happier,
and stay healthy.

5.

WHAT HAPPENS IF
WE DON’T SLEEP
ENOUGH?
If we do not sleep enough, we can have many
problems:
• We feel tired and have low energy during the day.
• It is hard to focus and remember new information.
• We can feel angry, sad, or stressed more easily.
• Our body becomes weaker, so we can get sick faster.
• It is harder to study well and get good grades.
When we don’t sleep enough, it affects how we study, how we feel,
and how we talk to other people.

6.

HOW CAN
WE SLEEP
BETTER?
• Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day
• Avoid phones, TV, and bright screens at least one hour before sleeping
• Keep your room cool, dark, and quiet
• Avoid drinking tea, coffee, or energy drinks in the evening
Conclusion
Sleep is one of the most important parts of a healthy lifestyle. It
helps us learn better, stay strong, and feel positive every day.
Teenagers especially should sleep 8–10 hours every night to stay
focused and perform well at school.
