Games Then and Now
Teenagers today have many different games to play. They play computer games
and mobile games. Many teenagers play online with friends after school. Some of
them are playing video games right now! These games are very exciting and fast, but
people often play alone, not together.
In the past, children didn’t have computers or mobile phones. They played outside
or at home with friends. They played marbles, dominoes, chess, Scrabble, and darts.
Marbles were small, colorful balls. Children were playing with them in the yard
and trying to hit each other’s marbles.
Dominoes were easy to play, but you needed to think carefully.
Scrabble was an interesting word game for families.
Chess was a game for smart people — it was slow but exciting.
Darts were fun and a little dangerous!
Old games were simple, but they were fun and helped children talk and play
together.
Modern games are cool and fast, but sometimes people don’t talk when they play.
