• What is High Carbon Ferro Chrome (HCFeCr)? A ferroalloy engineered with 60-70% chromium
and 4-9% carbon content. It bridges the gap between raw chrome ore and high-performance
alloy applications in demanding industrial environments.
• Grade A - The Industry Standard Grade A contains a minimum of 60% Cr, carbon between 68%, silicon between 2-4%, and sulfur/phosphorus each capped at 0.05%. This precise
composition ensures consistency and reliability in every batch.
• Powder Form - Engineered for Application Precision Supplied as a fine powder, HCFeCr
integrates seamlessly into electrode coatings and flux blends. The powder form enables
uniform distribution, critical for consistent weld quality and metallurgical performance.
• Arc Stabilization - A Hidden but Vital Role When used as a flux component, HCFeCr actively
controls slag viscosity and stabilizes the welding arc. This results in smoother weld deposition,
reduced spatter, and improved operator control during surfacing operations.

• Primary Application: Welding Electrode Coatings HCFeCr is a key ingredient in the coating
formulations of surfacing electrodes. It determines the final metallurgical character of the weld
deposit - making electrode coating design one of the most critical use cases for this alloy.
• Superior Hardness for Wear-Critical Surfaces The high carbon content promotes the formation of
hard chromium carbides in the weld deposit. This makes HCFeCr-based welds ideal for surfaces
subjected to heavy abrasion, impact, and mechanical wear.
• Corrosion Resistance - Extending Component Life With 60%+ chromium content, the weld
deposit develops a passive oxide layer that resists oxidation and chemical attack. This
significantly extends the service life of components in harsh or corrosive environments.
• Strategic Fit in Stainless Steel & High-Chromium Steel Production HCFeCr is almost exclusively
used in the production of stainless steel and high-chromium steels. It serves as the primary
chromium source that defines the grade, mechanical strength, and corrosion performance of the
final steel product.
