• Criticism does not mean you have to
attack the work or the author
• Examples of critical essay could be:

8. Analytical essay

• Just like critical but without the author
• Primary goal: To analyse and critically evaluate a topic.
• Among all the types of essay analytical is the most exacting
about logic and structure. You should be careful, organizing
your ideas. Make clear statements and remember to use linking
words to help readers follow your thoughts.

1. Form teams of 3-4 people
2. Discuss what you have in common or what is different about
all of you
3. Think of 3 statements about what is common or different: two
of them are true and one is false
4. Make other teams guess!
