2. History

1. At the time of formation of December 30, 1922 the Soviet Union
consisted of 4 republics (RSFSR , Ukrainian SSR and Byelorussian SSR ,
the Transcaucasian SFSR ) .
2. Result of the national-state demarcation in Central Asia, 1924-1925

3. Disintegration

1. During 1989-1991, the parade of sovereignties of the 15 union republics declared six

then the Union of Sovereign States declaring independence (Lithuania, Latvia , Estonia ,
Armenia and Georgia ), and the transition her (Moldova )

independence , and almost all of the remaining Soviet republics .

, and instead SSG created Commonwealth of Independent States as an international (
intergovernmental ) organization .
4.Thus at the time of dissolution of the USSR 8-12 December 1991 of all the Union
republics is not only three declared independence , and are not held referendums on
independence ( the Russian Federation , Belarus, Kazakhstan , the latter did so later).
