The book has long been valued by society. She was carrying the necessary

information. The book is treated with special respect, buy it was not so easy. To buy
books and learn, could only wealthy people. However, times change, and now the
book isn't respected so much as before. Now there are so many other sources from
which you can learn all the necessary information: Internet, radio, television,
Newspapers, magazines.

With the book modern humans completely different than decades ago.
Few people now goes to the library to write the essay. Enough to down to
the Internet and download the desired theme, and all - no need to suffer.
Few people today are fond of fantastic novels, stories. DVD, cinema
satellite television, as many interesting films to see, then why read books?

13. Text

The book first educates people, she introduces him to a new interesting world,
forms his views of life and beliefs, she develops, teaches to think, to dream. This
is its main function, and for that the book should be respected. Perhaps, with
time, the book regains its former popularity, and to read it will be primarily
fashionable.

My favourite book is “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” by Sir Arthur
Conan Doyle. I first discovered these stories when I was about twelve and
I’ve loved them ever since. They’re brilliantly written, full of bizarre crimes
and they’ve got a terrific Victorian atmosphere. When you read them you
really feel like you’ve been carried back to nineteenth-century London. All
the twentieth century detectives like Miss Marple and Inspector Morse
seem really boring compared to Sherlock Holmes.

15. Text

That’s where Conan Doyle, really makes you believe that Holmes is unique
— a genius with amazing mental powers. Normally I only read detective
stories once. I mean, why read them again when you know what happens
in the end? With the Sherlock Holmes stories, though, its different. Each
time I re-read them I discover more and more to enjoy.
