of number of their population.

Lions will disappear from the face of the earth
soon - in the wild nature these predators by
2050 can be completely exterminated. For the
last three decades the number of the African
lions living in the wild nature was reduced by
50%. Now them there are about 30 thousand
individuals.

4. The causes of extinction

Infectious diseases, trophy hunting and loss of
habitat are the main reasons for decrease in
number of the African lion. The main threat –
the conflicts with the person. People, trying to
protect pets and own lives, often ruthlessly
destroy lions. All this has led to the fact that in
the wild nature there are less than 40 000
African lions now.

5. Preservation of lions

According to experts, the authorities of the
African countries have to take a number of
measures for preservation of lions. Among
necessary are called: tourism development,
creation of nature reserve , restriction of
extermination of animals whom lions hunt.
