During the Great Patriotic War (World War II),
Krasnodar was occupied by the German Army in
August 12, 1942 .

During the six months of German occupation thousands of the city's
inhabitants were murdered.
The city sustained heavy damage in the fighting.

807 homes were destroyed and burned,
including 420 major buildings, including
127 industrial, 98 public.
Four universities were burned with the
equipment of laboratories and libraries,
theaters, dramatic and musical comedy,
the Palace of Pioneers, all schools,
clubs and cinemas.

Exemption of Kuban began in January 21, 1943 with the expulsion of the
Nazis from the territory of the Assumption area.
Krasnodar was liberated by the Soviet army in February 1943.

located in Pervomaiskiy city
park.
