2. In the past people traveled to hunt, to find food and to visit spiritual places – like Stonenge

3. The old Romans had to travel around Europe to be able to manage their new lands – Pont-du-Gard in France

4. In the medieval times, people used horses and coaches to travel – for example crusades

5. Later ships were used for overseas travels which gave the world a lot of important discoveries

6. The first trains started traveling in th 19th century – in the USA they helped thousands of poeple to travel to far places in

the
west – but often were attacked by gangs of outlaws

7. Ford T – the first mass produced car in the world – meant a real revolution in the way people traveled – USA September, 1908

8. Airplanes – after the second world war started to be used for civil services – first airlines were established

9. Holiday travel meant an incredible boom in the way people travel these days – thousands of people move from the north to the

south at the beginning od the summer in cars…

10. Planes……holiday travel causes that the airports are crowded….

11. Coach city tours are also popular… mainly in Europe
