Description of the country.
Russia is the largest country in the world, located in the Northern
hemisphere, and occupies a large part of Eurasia. The area is about 17
million km2.The capital is Moscow. There are about 2.8 million rivers
in Russia. In the North-Western part of Russia there are 2 largest
European lakes — Ladoga and Onega. Russia is one of the most multi –
ethnic countries in the world — about 160 nationalities and
nationalities. Official language: Russian.
The flag of Russia is a rectangular canvas with stripes of the same size,
from top to bottom: white, blue and red.
The state emblem of Russia depicts a double-headed eagle on a red
shield background. Anthem of Russia: music by A. Alexandrov, poems
by S. Mikhalkov. The currency is the ruble. Russia day: June 12.

One of the largest exhibition centers in the world is
the legendary VDNH.
In the XV – XVI century, St. Basil's Cathedral was built
The Tretyakov art gallery was founded in the IX CENTURY.
Its founder was father Tretyak. Here you can see the largest
collection of Russian paintings.
