IMPORTANCE AND PROBLEM OFRESEARCH
The importance of our study is due to the following
contradictions:
the need for creative workers is growing and at the same time
there is not enough effective satisfaction of this need in the
higher education system;
the desire of students to create and shape the media space
and the lack of skills and preparation for critical thinking and
consumption of media, the development of media projects.
These contradictions allow us to identify the problem of our
study, which consists in developing a theoretical and practical
basis for the development of the introduction and implementation
of media education in the educational process in the higher
education system.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THERESEARCH
The purpose of the research: the creation and experimental verification of
pedagogical conditions for the implementation of the process of forming
creative skills and abilities of students of SevSU when creating their own
projects.
Research Objectives:
Analysis of the development of the studied problem in the theory of media
education in Russia, to clarify the essence of the basic concepts;
Define the components and criteria for the development of media
competence of Russian students;
To develop a model for the development of media competency among
students of SevSU.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OFTHE RESEARCH
Object of research: the educational process of the higher education
system.
Subject of research: the development of media literacy among students
through the creation of their own media projects.

MEDIA EDUCATIONAL PROJECTA media education project is a particular form of implementation
of project technology, originating in the project method. Project
technology ensures a high level of interest of project participants in
the results of “collectively distributed” activities, which is the
creation of a collective product, as in our case, the creation of
media projects.

MEDIAPROEKT «RUSSIA TOMORROW»Russia Tomorrow – political review of important events in a
blogging form in foreign languages. A feature of this media project is
the presence of a sarcastic block that expresses the opinion of
students.

МЕДИАПРОЕКТ «SEVSU ROFL».
SevSU Rofl – entertaining project, which includes several
categories. This project does not stand still and is expanding.

ONLINE USER ENGAGEMENT SURVEYIn order to understand our target audience, we launched an online survey, which was
completed by 111 respondents. The main purpose of this questionnaire was to understand
how viewers relate to our projects: like or dislike such project formats and the technical
component (filming, editing, presenters' work).

needs of our target audience.
