3. The large minaret
One of the attractions of the cityof Bolgar is A large minaret.
Cathedral construction was
started immediately after the
capture of the territory by the
Mongol army, and by the 60s of
the XIII century, the
construction of the structure
was completed. The purpose of
the construction of the
Cathedral mosque was to
intimidate the enemies of the
state with its power, to
represent the greatness of the
Muslim religion
4. The Eastern mausoleum
In the East of thefamous Bolgar
landmark – the
Cathedral mosque, the
Eastern mausoleum is
located. Built in the XIV
century. The
mausoleum is almost
the only monument of
ancient Bolgar that has
been preserved most
fully. It is part of the
Central ensemble of
the city's architecture
5. The small minaret and the Khan's tomb
Architectural monumentswere built in the XII
century.according to legend, at
the burial site of the Holy
Bulgars. The small minaret is a
16 – meter-high stone pillar
with a 40-step spiral staircase.
The architectural decor of the
niche and entrance part has
been preserved. Named Small
in contrast to The large
Minaret of the Cathedral
mosque. The Khan's tomb
consisted of 4 mausoleums of
which only one was preserved
and served as a burial place for
members of the Khan's family.

Mausoleum-tomb, amonument of the XIV century is
located opposite the main
entrance of the Cathedral
mosque. Today there is an
exhibition of Bulgarian
epigraphic monuments inside
the monument. Preserved
epigraphic monuments have an
inscription consisting of a
Quranic saying, name,
genealogy, and date of death of
the buried person. The stelae
are part of the rich
architectural heritage of the
Bulgars
7. Assumption church
Assumption Church, built in 17321734. the Church was built at theexpense of the Kazan merchant
Ivan Afanasyevich Mikhlyaev in
honor of Peter I's visit to the
Bulgarian settlement in 1722. the
Church is dedicated to the
assumption Of the mother of God
and was built for the monastery
created in these places, which
became known as the assumption.
After the transfer of the
monastery to Cheboksary, the
assumption Church became a
parish Church. The first restoration
work was carried out in the 19th
century
8. White mosque
The white mosque was built on theterritory of the reserve in 2012. The
best works of world Islamic
architecture served as a model for
construction. The ensemble of the
White mosque is decorated with a
prayer square, framed by an
exquisite arcade of 88 Eastern
columns; refined towers of minarets;
the main dome with elaborate
stained glass Windows and snowwhite buildings intended for the
clergy. The interior is no less
inspiring: the prayer hall is
surrounded by tall columns with
Crescent moons, and on the walls
you can see elegant Arabic script —
sayings from the Koran.
