Objectives and testing/Activities performed
Challenging test:
First engine with different partners, new test cell
(instrumentation acquisition, monitoring, engine control)
Test program based on various Test Requests.
Heavy instrumentation engine.
Feedback:
HP restriction due to basic design.
Difficulty to managed instrumentation routing
Less confidence in measurement as usual
Nacelle leak (seal missing)

SCAC Engine Technical Audit2-2 Objectives and testing/Activities performed
Main activities:
Engine Warm-up and break-in
Full
chronology:
• Starting procedure optimization
• Engine bleed system calibration (including Transient Bleed device)
• Engine Variable systems calibration & preliminary optimization (VSV, HPT
clearance control), in steady state and transient conditions
• LP turbine cooling optimization
• Performance Power Calibration and preliminary exhaust nozzle effect
• Components endoscopic inspections following each critical phase of the testing,
including Instrumentation check and refurbishment.

8. 2-2 Objectives and testing/Activities performed
SCAC Engine Technical Audit2-2 Objectives and testing/Activities performed
Main results:
Start behavior: Tamb effect (isa-5°C to isa+15°C), starter N2 speed
starter shut off (8100 to 8900 N2 RPM), air starter pressure effect (1.5 to
3.5 bar), light on (3000 to 4000 N2 RPM) fuel flow light on (110 to 150
kg/h).
Correct speed increase, good engine control: fuel flow, starter and
HPSOV management.
Engine behavior: functionality validation (first engine)
Partial acceleration and deceleration done with and without active
HPTACC law.
Good engine control for a first engine, according to the
restriction: regulation law (fuel flow, VSV, VBV, TBV…), identification
of transfer function, speed trajectory,…
