HISTORY OF TYUMEN• The city of Tyumen was founded as an outpost for the development of
Siberia and the Far East. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the main
population was service people. In the 1st third of the 17th century, it
was often subjected to raids by nomads, which was reflected in The
Tale of Tara and Tyumen (1634). A century after its founding, about 2
thousand people lived in Tyumen. In October 1695, the wooden city
burned down, after which stone construction began to develop. Of the
stone structures of that time, the complex of buildings of the Trinity
Monastery has been preserved

At the beginning of the 18th century, Tyumenwas a major transit point for trade; trade routes
from China and all of Siberia to the center of
Russia passed through the city. Blacksmithing,
bell-making, and soap-making were widely
developed. Tyumen was famous for the
production of furniture and other wood products.
In 1763, 6593 people lived here, of which 317 were
artisans. During this period, Tyumen became
famous for leather dressing. They were processed
in small workshops that stuck around the banks
of the Tura. Leather and products from it were
taken to the Irbit fair, supplied to the army, and
sold abroad.

on exiles, which registered and settled them in Siberia. There
were 117 factories and plants in Tyumen, including 3
