everywhere, from

institutions. The number
of AI assistants on the
market is only increasing,
and they will become even
more integrated into our
lives.

What is an AI Assistant?
An AI assistant can be defined as a
software program that relies on
technologies like natural language
processing (NLP) to follow voice and
text commands. They are capable of
carrying out many of the same tasks
as human assistants, such as reading
text, taking dictation, making calls,
and much more. AI assistants are
often based on the cloud, meaning
you can access them anywhere as
long as there is an internet
connection.
The market for AI assistants has
been rapidly growing and becoming
more competitive.

As you probably could’ve guessed, topping
the list is Apple’s Siri. This an AI
assistant nearly everybody knows, and it
garnered more attention than any other.
Siri relies on natural language user
interface (UI) and voice queries, which
enables it to perform many useful
functions.
Siri is available on the major Apple
platforms like IOS, macOS, and iPadOS.
It is highly personalized, adapting to
users’ languages, searches, preferences,
and much more.

Siri’s biggest competitor on the market is
Microsoft’s Cortana, which is another one of

recommendations. It’s API’s work with
Windows and other 3rd party apps.
Cortana is also compatible with many
platforms like Windows 10, Windows mobile,
Android, Alexa, and Mixed Reality (MR).
The AI assistant learns from device data to
carry out its various functions. Its
integration with Alexa helps it control
Amazon Smart devices. It is also focused on
privacy, meaning you can view and edit the
details stored by the assistant.

Alisa is a Russian intelligent
personal assistant for Android,
iOS and Windows operating
systems and Yandex's own
devices developed by Yandex.
Alice was officially introduced
on 10 October 2017. Aside from
common tasks, such as internet
search or weather forecasts, it
can also run applications and
chit-chat. Alice is also the
virtual assistant used for the
Yandex Station smart speaker.

at the end of 2016, when the IT
market was trending toward the
development of virtual
assistants: the market already
had Siri from Apple, Google
Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and
Cortana from Microsoft. At that
time, Yandex had already
implemented voice control in

applications, and was busy
creating a voice assistant capable
of interacting with humans in a
meaningful dialogue - a

neural network.

more.
One of the most well-known features
of Alexa is its wake-up word, which

word. This differentiates Alexa from
other devices that require pushing a

devices.

1,000 brands.
