Common Aviation AreaIn June 2012 the Republic of Moldova joined Common Aviation Area
Advantages:
The Republic of Moldova became a part of the Common Aviation Area and started the
implementation of the acquis communautaire relevant to international air transportation.
As the result of market liberalization, cancellation of bilateral agreements, the number of
movements to Europe have increased by approx. 20 %.
Citizens of Moldova, possessing Romanian passports stopped to fly from Romania and choose
Chisinau Intl Airport as the departure and arrival point.
April,28 2014 – Citizens of the Republic of Moldova possessing biometric passports are
able to travel to and throughout the Schengen area without a visa.
