2.

About him
French chemist Louis Pasteur is a man who
has made a breakthrough in vaccination and
has made a huge number of scientific
discoveries useful to humanity. Having no
medical education

CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH
He was born on September 18, 1822.
The boy was sent to a college in the city
of Arbois, where tuition cost a decent
amount of money. Pasteur Jr. studied
with ease, although he did not shine
with great academic knowledge in the
lessons.
After graduating from college, on
the advice of teachers, Pasteur
entered the Ecole High School. It
was here that the talented young
man linked his biography with a
mysterious science called
chemistry.
In the summer of 1847, the student
defended his dissertations in physics
and chemistry, each of which he
dedicated to his parents.

Inventions
The researcher discovered previously unknown pyogenic microbes,
including Staphylococcus and streptococcus. Thanks to the work of
the scientist, disinfection and other antiseptic measures began to
be carried out everywhere in clinics.

5.

Rabies vaccine
The most important achievement
of the microbiologist was the fight
against rabies raging at that time.
Many years of research have been
spent searching for the causative
agent of this terrible disease. At
that time, there were no electron
microscopes, which made it
extremely difficult to study the
smallest organisms. Intuitively,
Pasteur suggested that since the
virus cannot be cultivated in an
artificial environment, it should be
cultivated in its environment.
He tested his rabies vaccine on
rabbits and dogs. The guinea pigs
bitten by dogs remained alive.

Contribution by Louis Pasteur
-Laid the foundations
of technical and
industrial microbiology
- I found out the role
of microbes in the
circulation of
substances
-isolated the causative
agent of anthrax
- developed a rabies
vaccine

PERSONAL LIFE
While working at the University of Strasbourg, Pasteur began to
communicate closely with Rector Laurent. After visiting the chief,
the young scientist met his daughter Marie. Louis fell in love at
first sight, and a week later the girl's father received a letter
asking for marriage.

Death
After suffering a stroke at the age of 45,
Louis Pasteur experienced huge health
problems for the rest of his life. Despite
this, he did not stop working and making
new discoveries. The scientist's
laboratory research was associated with
dangerous viruses, so his loved ones
were in constant fear for his life.
The heart of the great microbiologist stopped on September
28, 1895. Pasteur was 72 years old at the time of his death. His
grave was located for some time in the Nord-Dame-de-Paris,
and then was moved to the Pasteur Institute he created.
