Using Internet for learning english to secondary school students through educational online platforms

1.

2.

Educational Internet platforms were created
specifically for use in the learning process. They
contain educational and teaching materials at a
certain level of education and for a certain no subject
area. For example, they can be used for learning
foreign languages. These resources can also be used
in educational settings. Initially, the possibility of
using the reproduction of goods and services on the
Internet arose in the business sphere. The idea of
combining commodity production and interaction
with consumers has also become the basis for the use
of platforms in the educational sphere. Today, this
approach combines the education system and the
business sector.

The popular language learning service Lingualeo offers
many types of exercises, including for the English
language. With Lingualeo, students can learn to read,
write and communicate in the languages of their
choice. The application contains courses on various
topics, grammar exercises, video lessons, training on
memorizing words, books, articles on the English
language. The program is suitable for both primary
school students and older children.
As can be seen from the illustration (see Figure 1), the
Lingualeo website has a moderately childish interface,
a minimum of animated images and a relatively adult
design. According to the developers themselves, the
platform is suitable for all ages except the youngest.
This platform has both paid and free features here.

Unlike Lingualeo, another site, Duolingo
features not one, but several animated
characters that support and encourage the user
throughout the lessons using simple
animations (see Figure 2). In this way,
Duolingo developers want to attract both
young and adult visitors. At first glance,
Duolingo's interface is very simple. But there is
a wide system for awarding points, hearts and
the site’s internal currency. This system
encourages students to study and progress
without having to pay real money.

The next educational site is called Puzzle
English. Unlike the previous two, it is
dedicated entirely to the English language.
There is no French, German or other languages,
and the interface is completely Russian. This is
not surprising, since the resource was
developed by Russian programmer Alexander
Antonov. The Russian interface of the site can
attract many users from Kazakhstan, as well as
citizens of neighboring countries where the
Russian language is widespread.

Let's consider an example of another site that can
be classified as a Kazakh educational platform,
although it was developed by the British Council.
These are several resources combined on one
platform: Learn English, Learn English Kids, Learn
English Teens, and Premier Skills English.
The advantage of these sites is that they are free.
You can use the Learn English Teens resource for
additional classes in secondary schools. The
disadvantage of these websites is that it is difficult
for a child to understand their system without the
help of an adult. Children may also find them
boring, as these sites have poor consistent gaming
features.
