Artwork Stylistics
• A significant part of his works has
an emphasis on a monochromatic
color scheme, mostly surrounded
by contrasting dark areas, which
creates most of the details.
• Beksiński’s painting are fulfilled
with surrealistic creatures
mostly representing death,
illnesses etc.
• In his works, he also uses
various architectural structures
that immerse the viewer into
worlds he created.

Photography
• It is clearly visible how his approach
to art changed, but not the
main images that remained
in his later works.
• These were his first steps in art,
so I believe it was one of the
the most valuable periods on his way
to become someone we know today

Personality
All his life, he transferred his worldview
to the canvas or the camera lens,
but one thing always remained
unchanged, his attitude to art.
Zdzislaw Beksinski made his painting
without any story promotion of his art.
As he once said "Interpritation is
imposed by others, speaking immodestly
paintings are to be amired or
contemplated, admired without asking
what it means. If I had something to say
I would write it down or say it,I don't
need painting for that". He was painting
without meditating on a story.

What makes art „good“ and who (if anyone?) determines what good art is?
• In my opinion, art is created by the worldview
and experience of the artist. Art cannot be good or bad,
it develops with time and effort.
What criteria should be considered to call something a work of art?
• Today, almost everything can be called a work of art.
But I prefer a dry assessment of the work to this characterization
If I see that they put their soul into the work and it resonates with me,
causing a variety of emotions, then I am ready to call something art
How do you determine if art is valuable? How do you know if
art is worth of money?
• I believe that art is not about money, especially nowadays
when the most of art is created digitally there are
many ways to earn money, such as developing games and movies.
Even some of Zdzisław Beksiński’s artworks were sold for 2-3k $
As I mentioned earlier if something can be called art it would
be sold for a good money to someone would appreciate this artwork
