THE PURPOSE of my presentation is to

degradation of society, the risks caused
by technological progress, and to
establish the influence of modern
technologies on the psyche of a
teenager.

3.

I'm going to
divide my speech
into 5 PARTS:
1 How much do you know about
healthy eating?
2 Junk food
3 Food addiction
4 Pros and cons of being a vegetarian
5 Genetically modified food

4.

How much do you
know about healthy
eating?
Healthy eating involves a balanced diet rich in essential
nutrients:
Fruits and Vegetables: Vitamins, minerals, fiber.
Whole Grains: Fiber, B vitamins.
Proteins: Lean meats, fish, beans, nuts.
Dairy: Calcium, vitamin D.
Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, olive oil.
Hydration and portion control are vital. Limit processed
foods, sodium, and sugar to reduce health risks.
Healthy eating aids weight management, mental
health, and disease prevention. Tips: meal planning,
reading labels, cooking at home. Adapt to individual
needs for better quality of life.

5.

Junk food
Junk food is high in calories but low in
nutrients, containing much sugar, salt, and
unhealthy fats. Examples include chips,
candy, and fast food.
Health risks:
• Weight gain, diabetes from sugar.
• High blood pressure from salt.
• Obesity, heart disease from unhealthy
fats.
Choose whole foods like fruits, vegetables,
and lean proteins. Cooking at home and
reading labels helps avoid unhealthy
ingredients.
In summary, junk food poses health risks.
Healthier choices improve well-being.

6.

Food addiction
Food addiction is compulsive eating
of unhealthy foods despite negative
effects. Signs include cravings,
overeating, guilt, and hiding habits.
Causes include genetics, psychology,
and environment. Treatment involves
therapy, nutrition counseling, and
support groups. Recovery focuses on
mindful eating and balanced meals.
Understanding and support aid in
overcoming food addiction.

7.

Pros and cons of
being a vegetarian
Vegetarianism brings health, environmental, and ethical
benefits. Health-wise, it lowers the risk of chronic
diseases and promotes weight management.
Environmentally, it reduces carbon footprint and resource
usage. Ethically, it supports animal welfare. However,
vegetarians need to ensure balanced nutrition and
navigate social challenges.

8.

Genetically
modified food
GM foods offer solutions to agricultural
challenges by enhancing traits like pest
resistance and nutritional content. They
can increase yields and reduce chemical
usage, promoting sustainability. However,
concerns exist regarding safety,
environmental impact, and economic
control. Regulations vary globally, posing
challenges for trade. Balanced research,
transparent regulation, and stakeholder
engagement are vital for maximizing
benefits while minimizing risks.

Prioritizing nutritious foods is essential in today's fastpaced world. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean
proteins provide vital nutrients, supporting our immune
system and overall well-being. Mindful eating fosters a
healthier relationship with food, preventing overeating.
While processed foods pose challenges, healthy eating
reduces the risk of diseases and promotes mental clarity.
Choosing plant-based options benefits both personal
health and the environment, contributing to a sustainable
future. Healthy eating isn't just a trend—it's a lifestyle that
empowers us to nurture our bodies and the planet.
