Residence Card (ARC Card)
The Residence Card is the national ID card
of the Republic of Korea, which is an ID card
for foreigners staying in Korea and
a form of social security. Residence cards
are required to sign up for and use services
such as mobile phone bills, the Internet,
banks, and the National Health Insurance.
Residence cards are called ARC cards, which
are short for Alien Registration Card.

Residence Card & Adress
Students must apply for an extension at
least three month before the expiration date
of their alien registration card.
(You can apply for an extension only when the docu
ments required for the extension are fully prepared)
If you change your address, please register
your new address with new house contract
and ARC card in the community service center
near you within 14days.
Overwise, you will get the penalty.
