Factory Audit
How does it work ?
QA use internal grid to check the
factory is in line with our social and
quality requirements.
If not, supplier needs to manage a
corrective action plan (CAP)
A second audit is then necessary
3 levels of findings: critical, major,
minor
How long does it last ?
Audit time: 1 day
Issue audit report: 1 week to 10 days
CAP: leadtime depends on the
supplier

7 priority “zero tolerance” items
If any of this situation is met, we immediately stop the business
with the factory. Orders under way are cancelled.

AUDIT Policy
How does it work ?
The initial audit will be done by Karvon Tash Quality Team. Free of charge
The CAP checking will be done by Karvon Tash Quality Team. Free of charge
Renewal audits (after 3 years business with Karvon Tash ) are subcontracted
to a third part company. This audit has to be paid by the supplier.

ICS Audits
How does it work ?
Karvon Tash , as a member of ICS, selects every year a list of factories that
will go through ICS social audit
This audit is paid by Karvon Tash .
Audits includes significant number of workers interviews and focuses on social

If any critical finding during this audit, we immediately
stop the business with the factory. Orders under way
are cancelled.
If any critical finding during this audit, all retailers
among the list of ICS member list will be aware and
also blacklist the factory

File
How does it work ?
VDA Quality starts TCF
Lab checks TCF content
Lab sends list of TCF content to
supplier
Supplier tests products and get reports
and certificates
Supplier send documents to lab for
checking
When all is checked, lab closes TCF
Lab uploads documents to SPACE
Test Report
How long does it last ?
Depends on the product complexity and
supplier ability to provide the documents:
Normally from 4-5 days (everything is ok
first time) to several months

How does it work ?
Supplier books a date for
inspection with inspection
company
Inspection company goes to
factory with TCF files and product
reference.
They randomly check a
predefined number of pieces
according to a checklist of items,
TCF files and product reference
to make sure the production is ok
They issue inspection report with
three possible status: passed,
failed, pending
Sometimes, PST (Pre Shipping
Test is added)
How long does it last ?
Roughly from 1 to 5 man-days
If Pre Shipping Test is done, it can
be longer (add 1 week)

Inspection can be done only if 100% of production
is done and at least 80% of the products packed
Why it’s important ?
It’s the final step to complete the
quality process to ensure the
product, pack, shipping marks …

Traceability is an IT tool that monitors
the traceability of production for Karvon
Tash
Supplier declares in Traceability
system all its factories
For each Karvon Tash order, supplier
needs to log in the system and link the
order to the factory he will use for the
production

How long does it last ?
A few minutes only !
On 24 April 2013, Rana Plaza, an eightstory commercial building containing
garment factories, collapsed in Dhaka.
1,129 dead people & 2,515 injured
Why it’s important ?
We need to make sure our partners are not
using hidden subcontractors and factories that
were not audited.
Among the garment factories, one was a
hidden subcontractor of Karvon Tash
partner’s supplier
Traceability System was setup to
avoid this situation in the future

RPC – Random Production
Control
How does it work ?
Supplier declares in Traceability system the factory he will use for
manufacturing Karvon Tash order
He also declares the production date to Karvon Tash teams
Karvon Tash sends an inspector without prior announcement to
check if there is no hidden subcontracting
How long does it last ?
Half a day to one day
Why it’s important ?
We need to make sure our partners are not using hidden subcontractors and
factories that were not audited.
If Karvon Tash has clear evidence that the supplier is using
undeclared subcontracting, we immediately stop the business
with the factory

审计由 Karvon Tash 付费
审核包括工人的面访和社会责任的关注

如果在审核期间发生任何有争议的问题 我们会马上停
止与工厂的合作。订单也会取消。
如果在审核期间发生任何有争议的问题 所有作为ICS
成员的零售企业也会知道 他们也会把相关工厂列入黑
名单。
