New York Bagel
This small ring of bread has become a
culinary symbol of the city, beloved by
New Yorkers and tourists.
It was created & sent to Poland as a
tribute to Polish King Jan Sobieski,
who saved city Vienna from the
Ottoman invasion. The bagel's shape
represented the stirrup of the king's
horse. The bagel arrived in New York
with Jewish immigrants. Here it
became a culinary icon. Jewish bakers
in New York perfected the recipe,
creating "New York-style bagel."

Style Pizza
This dish represents the very
essence of New York gastronomic
culture.
The history of this pizza begins with the
arrival of Italian immigrants, who
brought their recipies & adapted them.
The first recorded pizzeria was
Lombardi's, opened in Manhattan's
Little Italy neighborhood. Then New
York pizza began to spread throughout
the city.
The Ninja Turtles from TNNT were
incredibly fond of this pizza. Does

This dessert has become an icon of
New York baking.
Comparing it to other cheesecakes,
this one has a recent history.
It's derivation is associated with
Arnold Reuben, who ran the famous
Reuben's Restaurant and
Delicatessen in New York.If you
believe the rumors, Reuben was
invited to a dinner where cheesecake
was served. He was so
impressed that he began
experimenting with it's recipe until he
created cheesecake that we know
today.
