The Development of Intel
Processors
• Informatics Project – 10th Grade
• By Danny Kirillov

2.

The Beginning
• Intel was founded in 1968 by Gordon Moore
and Robert Noyce.
• The first processor, Intel 4004 (1971), had only
2300 transistors and worked at 740 kHz.
• Then came Intel 8080 and 8086 — the start of
the x86 architecture used today.

3.

The Evolution
• In the 1980s–1990s, Intel released:
• - 80286, 80386, 80486 – faster and more
advanced chips
• - Pentium (1993) – became a symbol of the
home computer
• Later came Pentium II–IV, with higher speeds
and better graphics.

4.

Modern Generations
• From 2006 Intel introduced Core processors:
• Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7, i9.
• Each generation improved:
• - More cores
• - Lower power use
• - Better performance
• Now Intel’s 12th–14th generations use hybrid
cores and AI features.

5.

Conclusion
• In over 50 years, Intel has gone from 2300 to
billions of transistors.
• Its processors power computers, laptops, and
even robots.
• Intel continues to innovate, making computers
smarter, faster, and more efficient.
