3. Learning foreign languages.

• Task 3. You are going to give a talk about learning
foreign languages. You will have to start in 1.5
minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10–
12 sentences). Remember to say:
• why lots of people learn foreign languages nowadays;
• why you have chosen to do the English exam this year;
• what you did to prepare for your English exam;
• what your attitude to learning foreign languages is.

4. Learning foreign languages.

I’d like to tell you about learning foreign languages. I think that it is extremely
important to know at least one foreign language.
Actually, lots of people learn different foreign languages and English is the most
popular one. The reasons can be different. It’s much easier to travel if you know
the language. Most people can learn languages because they need them for their
work. It’s obvious that we can get a better job and better salary if we can speak
different foreign languages.
As for me, I’ve chosen the English exam this year because I think that I know it well
and I expect a good result. I’m into English and revision before the exam helped
me to improve it too. So it’s easier for me to have English than History, for
example.
To tell you the truth, before the exam I read a lot of books and listened to a lot of
texts and dialogues and did a lot of exercises. Besides, I had extra classes with an
English teacher twice a week all this school year.
As I am having my English exam now I think it is obvious that my attitude to
learning foreign languages is very positive. The thing is that I`m good at languages
