Aim
The aim of my project is to create a good school
uniform design that:
follows school rules;
looks professional;
is liked by students.
My objectives were:
1.To learn about the history of school uniforms
in Russia and Britain.
2.To ask students what they think about uniforms.
3.To study school rules about clothes.
4.To design a new uniform based on students’
opinions.
5.To make a 3D model of an emblem.

Why is this topic important?
School uniforms can help create a good learning environment. They can:
hide differences in family income;
reduce bullying;
help students focus on studies, not on clothes.
But many students and parents have different opinions about uniforms, so it’s important to study this
topic.

History of school

In Russia:
In 1834, students wore military-style uniforms.
In the Soviet period, uniforms were first removed (1918) and then
brought back (1949).
Today, each school can decide about uniforms. There are usually three
types: everyday, formal, and sports.

In the UK:
The first uniform was in 1552 — long blue cloaks.
In the 19th century, uniforms helped to smooth out social differences.
Now, about 90 % of UK schools have mandatory uniforms. They usually
include a blazer with an emblem, a white shirt, a tie, trousers for boys,
and a skirt for girls

Design of a new school

For boys: trousers, a shirt, a vest, and a jacket
with an emblem.
For girls: a skirt or trousers, a blouse, a vest, and
a jacket with an emblem.
Colours: black and white.

3D printing
the school motto;
symbols of three countries:
Spain (Sagrada Família), the
UK (Westminster Abbey),
and Russia (Saint
Petersburg).
3D model using Tinkercad
and printed it on a 3D printer
with PLA plastic. The badge
is 5×5 cm, and printing took
about 25 minutes.

Conclusion
School uniforms in Russia and the UK have different histories.
Student opinions are divided, but most support a business style.
My uniform design shows that the current dress code is good but needs small
improvements.
The 3D emblem can be used in our school as a symbol of identity.
