Judges
Case resolved by the secret ballot;
Team which receives at least two (2) votes of
the judges will win!
Winning team goes to the Second Round.

Teams;
Each Team consist of 5 students;
Each student shall speak – 3 minutes;

4. Assessment

Each
student will be assessed individually,
however whole team receives one grade.
Maximum 10 points for each student;
Maximum 50 points per Team;
Average score divided to /5 which will equal
to average score of the team (no more than
10%)

5. Format

Each
student shall speak no more than 3 min!
1st student (3 min) the case and the facts;
2nd student (2 min) legal acts (articles) and
definitions if required;
3rd student (3 min) provides argumentations;
4th student (3 min) provides argumentations;
5th (2 min) counter arguments & conclusion.

2nd
Round (Bonus)
6 winning teams receives 1 bonus points and
will proceed to the 2nd round;
Winners of the 2nd round will receive 3 Bonus
Points!

7. Assessment

The
students who misses the Moot Court
receives 0 points for the assignment.

8. Resolution

Example:
“We, the Plaintiffs requesting the
court collect from the Defendants 500,000
tenge on the basis of the Article 157 of the
Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
Example:
“Мы, сторона истцов, просим суд
взыскать 500,000 тенге с Ответчиков на
основании статьи 157 Гражданского
Кодекса Республики Казахстан”.

1st Student (3 minutes) shall present the
Resolution – i.e what is your demands.
Then explain all the facts of the case (what,
when, where).
On 15 January 2015 parties Azizov (Plaintiff)
and Yegorov (Defendant) signed a sales
contract;
On 5 March Defendant refused make the
payments.

2nd Student (2 minutes) shall list all the
Legal Acts that were used (specific articles)
and if it is necessary provide the definitions.
Example:
Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Law of the RK on Entrepreneurship;
Law of the RK on Joint Stock Companies.

Presentation
3rd and 4th Students (both have 3 minutes)
shall present the arguments in favor of your
clients. Explain why your clients are entitled
to the money or property that you are
demanding.
Prove that legal acts shall be interpreted in
your favor. What is the relation between legal
acts that you are using and the facts of the
case.

Presentation
5th Students (3 minutes) shall make a
counter arguments if there are some and
make a conclusion of the statements of the
entire Team.
