A long time ago, a tradition appeared in Russia
that marks the border of winter and spring, and
which exists until now, its name "Maslenitsa". In
the past that was an Eastern Slavic Religious
and folk holiday.

Now it is just annual national event. In all cities
there are many festivals, people orginizing
contests and entertainments, having fun.

4.

The main attribute of this event are pancakes,
because it is the symbol of sun, without them
there is not Maslenitsa, even if you did not go to
the city festival, they need to be cooked at home.

Each festival ends with the burning
of a scarecrow.
