1. Lawful Interception (LI) Standardisation Requirements

3GPP systems shall provide access to the intercepted Communication and
signalling associated with the mobile target on behalf of Law Enforcement
Agencies (LEAs).
– Define Lawful interception Architecture and Functionality.
– Define delivery mechanisms for LI handover.
Interception based on a target identity.
Correlation of delivered information.
Interception must take place without the knowledge of parties to the
communication.
Protect the privacy and security of communications and signalling not
authorised to be intercepted.
