4. The Kakahi Falls - temperature - special place

• Its temperature of water is approximately 40°C, which is a
nice hot shower. The falls are considered to be a special place
for Maori people, in past they were used by warriors to bathe
and cleanse themselves of the blood of battle when they
returned. It’s believed that the waters healed their wounds
faster.

This is the only example of a mud volcano in a thermal park in New Zealand!
The mud volcano here is really unique. It’s 2 m high. It erupts every 6 weeks. It erupts hot
mud, but not lava. Fortunately, it usually erupts at night. So it doesn’t hurt anyone.

7. Geathermal Inferno

This area consists of five separate pools, which
range from 70°C to 110°C with depths from 5m to
15m.
It is believed that Ruamoko the God of Volcanic
Activity, watches over the thermal park and if a
visitor does something detrimental to the park,
then that visitor will experience some bad luck the severity and length of how long the bad luck
lasts is dependant on what was done by the
visitor.

8. The Medicine Lake

Its green water has been used for hundreds of years to treat aches,
pains, arthritis and skin diseases.
