History of adoption:
◦ NATIONAL EMBLEM
◦ National emblem consist of a shield that is red
colored with white sinister in its mid. In its center the
cedar tree is present same as referring to country’s
national flag. With a minor variation that the
horizontal stripes of colors are transformed into a
bend sinister. And the meanings of different colors of
stripes and the cedar are same , which are
represented by them in national flag

◦The Presence and position of the Cedar in the middle of the
flag is directly inspired by the mountains of Lebanon cedar .
The Cedar is a symbol of holiness, eternity and peace. As an
emblem of longevity, the cedar of Lebanon has its origin in
many biblical references..

◦The red bands symbolize blood shed for
liberation, the white band denotes peace,
the snow of the mountains, and purity.
