The Feast of Sacrifice is used in Uzbekistan.
The Hajj Feast is used in Malaysian and
Indonesian, in the Philippines.
Big Sallah in Nigeria, as it is considered to be
holier than Eid al-Fitr (which is locally known
as the "Small Sallah"). "Ram Sallah" is also used,
as it refers to the rams that are being sacrificed
on that day.

When asked about the origin of Eid al-Adha, The
Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, is reported to have
said, “It is a tradition that has come down to us
from Abraham.” The Feast of Sacrifice dates from
the historic event when Prophet Abraham was
commanded by God, in a form of a dream vision, to
sacrifice his son, Ishmail.

Eid al-Adha, (Arabic: “Festival of Sacrifice”)
the second of two great Muslim festivals, the
other being Eid al-Fitr. Eid al-Adha marks the
culmination of the hajj (pilgrimage) rites at
Minā, Saudi Arabia, near Mecca, but is
celebrated by Muslims throughout the world.
As with Eid al-Fitr, it is distinguished by the
performance of communal prayer (ṣalāt) at
daybreak on its first day..

It begins on the 10th of Dhū al-Ḥijjah, the last
month of the Islamic calendar, and continues for
an additional three days (though the Muslim use
of a lunar calendar means that it may occur during
any season of the year). During the festival,
families that can afford to sacrifice a ritually
acceptable animal (sheep, goat, camel, or cow)

And then divide the flesh equally among
themselves, the poor, and friends and
neighbours. Eid al-Adha is also a time for
visiting with friends and family and for
exchanging gifts. This festival commemorates
the ransom with a ram of the biblical patriarch
Ibrāhīm’s (Abraham’s) son Ismāʿīl (Ishmael)—
rather than Isaac, as in Judeo-Christian

The festivals extend to four days, which are the day
of the sacrifice and the three days of Tashreeq. This
creates an atmosphere of joy and happiness and it is
an occasion for the hearts to rejoice and for the
families to gather and to share nice moments. It is an
occasion for Muslims to help the poor and to create
more and more solidarity between the people. Good
deeds and good moments are the pure goal of this
occasion.

In addition to the joy that the Eid brings to
the Muslims, This occasion carries a great
spiritual, social and economic benefit for the
Islamic community. On the spiritual level,
the Muslim earns the rewards of the prayer,

due to the gatherings and exchanges.
And on the economic level, the
businesses see an increase in sales, and
the economy as a result is benefiting
from this occasion.

roast lamb - a popular and traditional Eid dish
across the Middle East! Lamb being the
traditional Eid Al Adha food, every inch of this
recipe screams Eid Mubarak! For this heavenly
recipe to become a reality, the meat is coated
with spices, herbs, and butter, before being
slow roasted to savoury tenderness, in an oven

Eid al-Adha is very important because it brings
people closer to each other, whether by visiting
relatives to each other or helping the poor,
which makes sure that there is no difference
between rich or poor and also has a great
benefit in terms of the economy because of the
people’s attempt to please their children and
buy them so-called Eid games.

of children, and therefore the most important
goal of this holiday is joy and pleasure
