INTRODUCTION
It is horizontal rectangular tricolor of saffron, white and gree

Contains ashoka chakra in navy
blue at its centre.
Was adopted during a meeting of
the constituent assembly held on
22 July 1947.
By law,the flag is to be made of
khadi, a special type of handspun cloth.

EVOLUTION OF INDIAN FLAG
The first
Indian flag is
said to be
hosted on
august 7,
1906.
The second flag.
was hosted by
Madame Cama
in 1907.
The third flag was
hosted by Dr. Annie
Besant and
Lokmanya Tilak in
1917

EVOLUTION OF INDIAN FLAG
During the
session of All
India Congress
Committee which
met at vijaywada
in 1921 an
Andhra youth
prepares a flag.
The year 1931 was
a landmark in the
history of flag. A
revolution was
passed adopting a
tricolor flag.
Finally, on the 22
July, 1947 the
Constituent
Assembly adopted
it as a free Indian
National Flag.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The flag are made according
to standards set by BIS.
The manufacturing unit was
established in 2004.
The process making the flag is
quite difficult. It reqires six steps
hand spinning, hand weaving,
bleaching & dyeing, chakra –
printing, stiching and toggling.

SYMBOLISM
Was designed by Pingali venkayya.
Spinning wheel: goal of making people
self- reliant
Saffron : signifies strenght and courage of
. country

Green : signifies fertility and growth of
the land
White: signifies peace and truth.

PROTOCOLS
Shall be made of hand spun and hand
woven cotton/wool.
Shall not be used for commercial
purpose in violation of the emblem
and names.
Shall not be allowed to touch the
ground or floor or trail in water.
Should be flown down before sunset.

CONCLUSION
Contains three colour and a
chakra,hence known as triranga.
After the evolution of five flag the
sixth flag was finalised as National
Flag.
Indian flag can be printed in nine
different sizes for different displays.
If the protocols are not followed by
any one then he/she could be fine or
imprisonment.
