• Valentine's Day or Valentine's
Day has been around for more

years. Valentine lived during the
reign of the Roman Emperor
Claudius. A decree was issued
prohibiting legionnaires from
getting married.

Valentin became him. He
reconciled the quarreled,
helped to write love letters
and give flowers to lovers.

• Because of his tricks behind the

prison. Languishing in prison, he
cured the jailer's daughter of
blindness and fell in love with her.
Saint Valentine wrote her a letter
in the form of a heart. Since then,
love letters have been called
"Valentines".
