The Palace of Westminster is the meeting place of the Houseof Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the

after its occupants, the

the Victoria Tower in height (96
meters), but much thinner. It houses the
Great Clock of Westminster, created in
1859.

The palace has 1100 rooms, 100 stairs and 5 kilometers of corridors. Ofthe palace towers, the most famous is the Elisabeth Clock Tower (Big
Ben), the symbol of Great Britain. The Victoria Tower is two meters
taller, its height is 98.45 meters (323 feet). In 1987, the palace and the
nearby St. Margaret Church (1486-1523) were included in the UNESCO
World Heritage List.
