Michael Faraday was born on
September 22, 1791 in the vicinity
of London in the family of a
blacksmith. Faraday's mother, a
hardworking, wise, though
uneducated woman, lived to see her
son achieve success and
recognition, and was rightfully
proud of him.

In 1821, Faraday first performed the
rotation of a magnet around a current
conductor and a current conductor
around a magnet, thereby creating a
laboratory model of an electric motor.

In 1831, he discovered the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction.In
subsequent years, the scientist studied in detail the phenomenon he discovered
and established the laws of electromagnetic induction

that proved for the first time the connection between electromagnetism and
light, which in 1864 was fully described by D. Maxwell's equations.
Physicist Faraday established that light is an electromagnetic wave.

matter
Faraday discovered that all substances are
diamagnetic - for the most part weakly, but
there are also strong ones. Diamagnetism is
opposite to the direction of the applied
magnetic field.
