Features of preschool education in China
• The pre-school education system in each country has
its own characteristics and similarities with similar
systems in other countries. Public preschools began
to appear in China in the middle of the 19th century
and these preschools copied the Japanese preschool
education system.
• Currently, preschool education is the initial stage of
the education system in China, designed for children
from birth to 6 years old in the city and up to 7 years
old in the countryside and carried out in various types
of preschool institutions.
• The main form is kindergarten, which is attended by
children aged 3 to 6 years. Age groups: junior (25
people), middle (30 people), senior (35 people).
• Collective forms of activities prevail in working with
children.
• Each group has 2 teachers who undergo special
training and certification and one assistant teacher.

There are other forms of pre-school education in China
• Prenatal education centers.
• Nursery for children from 1 to 3 years old.
• Combined kindergartens. They are opened by large enterprises. The
children of employees from 4 months to 6 years old are brought up in these
institutions. They work around the clock.
• Charitable educational institutions for children with disabilities from birth
to 15 years old.
• SOS- Children's villages. Such children's institutions are opened by
international charitable organizations for orphans under the age of 18.
• Pre-school groups (if there are no kindergartens, they are usually located in
the outback).

Daily schedule
At 7.40 am, after the solemn raising of the flag, the teachers conduct
morning exercises right on the street to cheerful marching music. Then
the guys leave for breakfast. Classes are held from 8.30 to 10.00.
Children play music and dance in a group, and play sports outside.
Fights, bad behavior, and refusal to obey a senior's request are not
allowed in kindergarten. Every week, the child's behavior and
knowledge are evaluated on a 100-point scale, and a table with the
results is posted on a stand for all parents. After lunch, it's bedtime from
12.00 to 14.30. The working day ends at 17 o'clock. But most of the
children stay for additional classes, "clubs", which are organized for a
fee. Among these activities are drawing, Chinese gymnastics, roller
skating, ballroom dancing.
In general, Chinese kindergartens are not only useful activities, good
food and games, mainly indoors, it is also excessively strict discipline,
respect for elders, the desire of every parent to

All preschool institutions work according to a single
program of educational work - a Directive program
for preschool education. This program was approved
in 2001 by the Ministry of Education and is based on
the theories of L.S. Vygotsky, J. Piaget, G. Gardner
and the Chinese teacher Dao Xizhi. The 2001
program It consists of 5 sections: -Health (health
promotion, education of the basics of a healthy
lifestyle) -Speech (increasing communicative

knowledge, developing cognitive abilities). -Art

emotional responsiveness and desire to create
beauty).

• Participation
• Variability
• Comprehensiveness.

7.

Developing environment
An environment of healthy life and rich
activities of children should be created in
the preschool, meeting their needs for
comprehensive development. The
environment should have several
directions:
-Activities
-Cognition
-Socialization
-Health
-Vision
-Culture

8.

Developing environment
Activity
The expediency of
building an
environment
contributes to the
formation of
desirable behavior
of children. The
main task of the
preschool is to
form healthy
habits in children.

9.

Developing environment
Cognition
The content and results
of development are
demonstrated through
drawings, and the
medium, like a
textbook, provides both
knowledge and a way of
learning. So, in the
corner of artistic and
creative activity, the
sequence of making
crafts is shown, which
contributes to the
development of
children's independence.

10.

Developing environment
Socialization
In the process of
discussing the option
of creating an
environment and its
implementation,
children communicate
with adults and with
other children. This
process develops
communication skills,
forms a desire for
cooperation,
collectivism, and
helps to master social
norms independently.

11.

Developing environment
Health
The proposed benefits must
comply with sanitary and
hygienic standards, stimulate the
development of feelings,
independent motor activity and
provide comfort to every child.
Vision
The educator must create such an
environment that its color,
imagery and rationality
contribute to the development of
aesthetic taste.

12.

Developing environment
Culture
The subject
environment
should reflect
both national
traditions and
the
characteristic
s of the
kindergarten
itself.
