TeachIt was an exciting day. The Queen was coming to visit
Kit and Sam’s town to open a new park! The family
had decorated their house with flags and bunting.
10.
TeachIt had started to rain. Lots of people had gathered in
the town, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Queen. The
family joined the crowd too.
“I hope we manage to see her,” said Sam, waving a
flag.
11.
Teach“There she is!” said Kit. The Queen was carrying an
umbrella to keep herself dry as she walked.
“Oh look!” said Sam. “The Queen is so important, her
assistant is carrying another umbrella for her.”
12.
TeachThe letters q and u are sometimes partners. Together they say /qu/.
You may want to introduce the term
‘digraph’ to your class. Can they show
you what ‘digraph’ means by showing
you on their fingers? Two letters making
one sound!
