Tula region is situated
in the central part of
the East European
plain on the Middle
Russian Hills,
Southward of Moscow.
The population of the
region total 1840000.
Tula region is
bounded by Moscow,
Oryol, Ryazan, Kaluga
and Lipetsk regions.
Tula is in the the
centre of Tula region.
The other towns are:
Aleksin, Belyov,
Bogoroditsk, Dubna,
Odoyev, Plavsk and
others.

mountains there,

country. Tula has some research institutions
and many educational establishments, such as
the Tula Polytechnic and the Teacher Training
Universities, many colleges and secondary
schools. There are three theatres, a regional
philharmonic society, many clubs, palaces of
culture, a numerous of libraries and readingrooms.

The unique Museum of Arms on the territory of the
Tula Kremlin is a symbol of the city. It was founded
at the Tula gun factory according to the order of
Peter I.
