• India, officially the Republic of India (Bhārat
Gaṇarājya) is a country in South Asia. It is the
seventh-largest country by area, the second-most
populous country with over 1.2 billion people, and
the most populous democracy in the world. India is a
federal constitutional republic governed under a
parliamentary system consisting of 29 states and 7
union territories.

13. Attitude to the COW

• Cow Hindus equal to the status of the mother,
because the mother animal has such qualities as
humility, kindness, wisdom and serenity. In India the
cow is called "Gau Mata", which literally translates as
"Mother Cow." Therefore, while on holiday in India, it
is forbidden to shout at the cow, beat her and,
especially, to eat beef.
