• Clinical psychology is
the one of the leading
directions whose
activities are aimed at
maintaining mental
health, overcoming
resentment and
rehabilitation

History
• For the first time in Russia
pathopsychological research
work was carried out by S.S.
Korsakov, I.A. Sikorsky, V.M.
Bekhterev, V.Kh. Kandinsky and
other psychiatrists. The first
psychology in Russia was
founded by V.M.Bekhterev in
1885 in the psychiatric clinic of
Kazan University.

History
• The Faculty of Clinical Psychology at
PSMU was opened in 2014. Training
specialization in our University is
"Pathopsychological diagnostics and
psychotherapy". The appearance of
new specialty became a very
important event for our university
because this was the opening of the
new direction included in the group
of specialties - "Psychological
Sciences".

Pathopsychology
• Pathopsychology studies
problems such as human
mental disorders,
disorders of adequate
perception due to
damage of the central
nervous system. Also
studying the factors
contributing to effective
treatment.

Psychotherapy
• Psychotherapy studies
problems such as the
features of patient care, the
restoration of personal social
status through various
medical, psychological, social
and pedagogical activities.
Also it includes
psychohygiene. It consists
in maintaining mental
health.

Study
• While studying in our
university students master
fundamental, general
psychological, clinical and
psychological disciplines.
Particular attention is paid
to teaching various
methods and techniques
of psychological influence.

Practice
• Special practical training are held
on the basis of medical and
educational institutions. During
the practice, students learn the
skills of applying diagnostic and
psychocorrectional techniques in
a real situation of communication
with patients. In addition, they
develop skills for individual and
group work both with healthy
people and with patients of
somatic and psychotherapeutic
departments of medical
institutions.

Exams
• To enter in Faculty of clinical
psychology applicants take
examination of Russian
language, maths, biology and
social science. After 5 years
and the half, students take the
final state exams. Those who
have passed the examination
receive their diploma, which
certifies them as clinical
psychologist

Clinical Psychologist
• A clinical psychologist
should be a collected,
attentive and very
correct person. And he
should have patience
and decency.
