The system unit
The system unit is a functional
element that protects the
internal components of the
computer from external
influences and mechanical
damage, maintains the
necessary temperature regime
inside, shields the
electromagnetic radiation
generated by the internal
components and is the basis
for further expansion of the
system.
The system unit contains: a
motherboard with a processor
installed on it, RAM,
expansion cards (video card,
sound card, network card),
storage compartments, power
supply.

3.

A system board
A system board is a
complex multilayer printed
circuit board on which the
main components of a
personal computer are
installed. It is the
motherboard that unites
and coordinates the work
of components as diverse in
their essence and
functionality as the
processor, RAM, expansion
cards and all kinds of
drives. This is the second
most important component
of the system unit.
Main components : CPU,
chipset, RAM.

4.

CPU
The central processor is an
electronic unit or a chip
that executes machine
instructions (program
code), the main part of the
hardware of a computer or
a programmable logic
controller.
The main characteristics of
the CPU are: clock
frequency, performance,
power consumption,
standards of the
lithographic process used
in production and
architecture.

5.

A video card
A video card is a device
that converts an image
stored in computer
memory into a video
signal for a monitor.
Modern video cards are
not limited to simple
image output. They have
a graphics
microprocessor that can
perform additional
processing by offloading
the CPU.

6.

A sound card
A sound card is an expansion
card that converts audio from
an analog form to a digital one.
The main feature of the sound
card is the playback of audio
and video files stored on the
computer. The audio adapter
allows you to record sound,
play it back; it contains a
digital signal processor that
performs calculations.
Professional sound boards
allow for complex sound
processing

7.

RAM
RAM is an energy—dependent
part of a computer memory
system, which temporarily
stores data and commands
necessary for the processor to
perform an operation. Data is
transferred to RAM by the
processor directly or through
ultra-fast memory. The data
contained in RAM is available
only when the computer is
turned on. When you turn off
the computer, the contents are
erased from RAM, so all data
must be saved before turning
off the computer. Also, the
amount of RAM depends on
the number of tasks that a
computer can perform at the
same time.

8.

A hard disk
A hard disk is a storage
device (information storage
device) random access,
based on the principle of
magnetic recording. It is
the main data storage
device in most computers.
