The length of studying period• Medical school runs for 5 ½ years or 11 semesters, which
is shorter compared to most European programs.
• This is followed by a compulsory 18 month internship
conducted by the County Councils.

Payment• The tuition fee for studying in Sweden are usually nine to
nineteen thousand euros a year. In medical spheres it’s up to
thirty thousand a year.

Scholarship• As for a scholarship system, undergraduate students
often don’t have any grants at all. Unlike them,
graduate students get about eight hundred euros per
month, while those getting PhD’s are tightly connected
to their university that provides good employment for
students. They are usually paid one thousand and twoone thousand and six euros per month.

Living expenses• Furthermore, if you are a foreign
student, you’ll first have to pay for
sending an application to the
university (ninety euros) and then
receive a resident permit (one
hundred euros).

Living expenses• Then in case your tuition and living costs are not fully
covered by a scholarship program, you’ll have to pay for the
former and spend at least four hundred euros on
accommodation and up to two hundred euros on
subsistence.
